Worked on the rust-lang/cargo repository to improve the stability and reliability of dependency management on Windows platforms. Focused on hardening Cargo’s handling of Windows dependency paths by preventing invalid trailing backslashes and ensuring correct depfile generation. Applied test-driven development practices by adding regression tests that specifically targeted edge cases in build scripts and procedural macros, validating the handling of trailing path separators. Utilized Rust and cargo, with an emphasis on cross-platform compatibility and robust testing. These changes reduced Windows-specific build failures and contributed to more stable continuous integration workflows, directly enhancing the reliability of cross-platform software development.
