Worked on the Mastodon repository to enhance numeric display accuracy in the ShortNumber component, focusing on front end development with React, JavaScript, and TypeScript. Addressed a bug where numbers were incorrectly rounded up by implementing truncation logic, ensuring that numeric values are now displayed more accurately in the user interface. Developed and integrated a comprehensive regression test suite to validate truncation behavior across a range of values, which helps prevent future regressions and maintains consistency. These improvements increased clarity and reliability in numeric data presentation, supporting better user understanding and trust in the Mastodon platform’s displayed information.
