During June 2025, contributed to the pydantic/pydantic-ai repository by developing and integrating strict mode support for the NativeOutput class. This work involved adding a strict parameter and ensuring it was correctly propagated to the underlying schema definition, thereby enhancing data validation and integrity. The implementation included comprehensive unit testing to confirm that strict mode was enabled as intended, which increased overall test coverage. By focusing on Python and leveraging Pydantic for schema management, the changes reduced the risk of silent data coercion in downstream pipelines. The work demonstrated a methodical approach to API development and full stack engineering practices.
