Sezal contributed to two projects over a two-month period, focusing on both UI asset integration and API modernization. For the GSSoC24/Hack-Web3Conf repository, Sezal delivered a visual chat UI asset to enhance branding and support upcoming feature demos, improving asset traceability and aligning with product goals. In the RocketChat/Rocket.Chat repository, Sezal migrated four chat endpoints to OpenAPI, applying AJV validation and modern route chaining in TypeScript within the Meteor framework. This migration standardized API contracts, improved client integration reliability, and facilitated future SDK generation. The work demonstrated solid technical depth in API development and validation, though no bugs were addressed.
March 2026 – Rocket.Chat: OpenAPI migration for chat endpoints. Migrated chat.starMessage, chat.unStarMessage, chat.followMessage, and chat.unfollowMessage to OpenAPI with modern chained routes and AJV schemas for validation. No major bugs fixed this month. Impact: standardized API contracts, improved client integration reliability, reduced runtime validation risk, and prepared for future SDK generation and easier maintenance. Technologies/skills demonstrated: OpenAPI, AJV validation, API design and migration, route chaining, and API contract testing.
