During their work on the rommapp/romm repository, M delivered CHD v5 hashing and format support for ROM data, enhancing identification and verification across CHD formats. They implemented internal SHA1 extraction for CHD v5 files and developed a format-aware hashing approach with fallbacks for non-v5 files, ensuring robust compatibility. Using Python and backend development skills, M updated unit tests to accurately reflect SHA1 byte ranges and improved code quality by addressing pull request feedback and refining test reliability. The work demonstrated a focused approach to file handling and testing, resulting in a well-integrated feature that addressed a specific technical need.
