Developed and delivered an updated image creation workflow for the ovh/docs repository, focusing on automating and streamlining the provisioning of custom OpenStack images. The work centered on integrating Packer v1.11.2 with the OpenStack plugin, aligning the process with Ubuntu 24.04 and the b2-7 flavor to ensure compatibility with current infrastructure standards. By configuring Packer to source image, flavor, and network IDs from environment variables, the workflow now supports safer and more repeatable builds. This update reduced manual intervention, improved maintainability, and accelerated image provisioning. Key technologies and skills demonstrated included Packer, OpenStack, automation scripting, and Markdown documentation.
