Worked on the meshery/meshkit repository to enhance the Docker Compose to Kubernetes manifest conversion process by migrating from direct Kompose library usage to the Kompose client interface. Refactored the conversion logic to utilize the new client API, updating dependencies to align with current Kompose capabilities. This approach improved maintainability and reliability of manifest generation for Kubernetes deployments, reducing coupling with outdated libraries and enabling easier future updates. The work involved Go as the primary language and leveraged skills in Docker, Kubernetes, and dependency management. No bugs were fixed during this period, with the focus placed on delivering this key feature enhancement.
December 2024: Implemented a key feature to convert Docker Compose configurations to Kubernetes manifests by switching to the Kompose client, with dependency updates and refactoring of conversion logic to use the new client API. This aligns MeshKit tooling with current Kompose capabilities and improves maintainability and reliability of manifest generation.
