Shijing Xian enhanced the reliability and performance of LiveKit’s real-time communication SDKs by focusing on audio playback and RPC timeout management. In the livekit/rust-sdks repository, Shijing improved audio track stability through refined silence buffer handling and UTF-8 aware chunking, while also implementing a safeguard to prevent excessively short RPC timeouts. For livekit/client-sdk-js and livekit/server-sdk-go, Shijing raised default RPC timeouts and introduced latency-aware calculations to ensure robust operation in high-latency environments. These contributions, implemented using Rust, Go, and TypeScript, demonstrated a thoughtful approach to cross-platform development and system programming, addressing both user experience and backend reliability.
