Worked on the mlrun/mlrun repository to enhance frontend spec endpoint reliability by developing targeted unit tests for the get_frontend_spec endpoint. Focused on validating preemption_nodes and priority_class_names, the work ensured correct feature flag behavior and robust response structures. Leveraging Python, FastAPI, and SQLAlchemy, the developer emphasized API testing and unit testing to reduce the risk of frontend-backend contract regressions. All changes were executed and validated through CI and smoke-tests, introducing no breaking changes. Documentation of test expectations prepared the codebase for future enhancements, supporting safer feature flag deployments and establishing a stable foundation for ongoing frontend spec improvements.
