Shoval Shar developed the foundational API backend for the Hackaton-Yad-Tamar/Back repository, focusing on request management and volunteer matching. Using Python and FastAPI, Shoval implemented CRUD operations for requests, integrated PostgreSQL for persistent storage, and optimized data retrieval with SQLAlchemy eager loading. The work included adding a vehicle requirement field to requests and creating an endpoint that calculates match percentages between volunteers and requests, filtered by approval and activity status. Shoval also improved developer onboarding by updating dependencies and providing clear startup instructions. The engineering demonstrated depth in backend architecture, database management, and aligning technical solutions with business needs.
