Simon Doll developed a robust user authentication redirect and return URL handling flow for the Budibase/budibase repository, focusing on improving post-login navigation and reliability. Using JavaScript and Svelte, Simon engineered a context-aware redirect system that ensures users land on the correct destination after authentication, whether in the builder or app environment. The solution involved hardening the cookie lifecycle by clearing the return URL only after successful authentication, which prevented redirect loops and unnecessary reloads. This work enhanced login consistency and user experience across different contexts, demonstrating a thoughtful approach to front end development and authentication flow stability within the project.
