Saabir Singh worked on the apache/arrow-rs-object-store repository, focusing on enhancing AWS S3 request reliability through a targeted bug fix. He addressed an issue where default headers were not included in the AWS SigV4 signature calculation, which previously led to rejected S3 requests. Using Rust and the AWS SDK, Saabir implemented a solution that ensures all relevant headers are signed across various request paths. He expanded unit test coverage and refactored test code to extract reusable helpers, improving maintainability. This work increased the success rate of S3 requests and strengthened the robustness of the object-store client’s signature process.
