Worked on dbos-inc/dbos-transact-py to enhance observability of system database connections by implementing a database connection logging feature. This addition logs both the engine URL and target schema whenever a connection is established, providing clearer visibility into database interactions and supporting faster root-cause analysis across different environments. The work focused on backend development and database management using Python, with careful attention to logging practices. Performance considerations were documented, comparing f-strings and percent-formatting for logging efficiency when log levels are disabled. This feature set a foundation for improved debugging and reliability, aiming to reduce mean time to resolution in production.
