Worked on stabilizing Arabic text processing in the meilisearch/charabia repository, focusing on improving search quality for Arabic content. Addressed a critical bug in the Arabic Text Segmenter by correcting a byte-character confusion, which previously caused incorrect prefix detection. The solution involved adjusting the segmenter’s logic to check for four-character prefixes, enabling accurate identification of common Arabic prefixes such as 'ال' and its variants. This fix enhanced segmentation accuracy, directly improving indexing and search relevance for Arabic queries. Demonstrated strong skills in Rust, internationalization, and text segmentation, with a disciplined approach to targeted bug fixing and clear commit documentation.
