During January 2025, Slava Min focused on improving memory management and stability in the xupefei/delta repository, specifically addressing issues related to SparkSession handling in concurrent workloads. By refactoring the NonFateSharingFuture component, Slava ensured that SparkSession references were properly released upon successful completion, mitigating the risk of memory leaks in long-running Spark applications. This work required a deep understanding of concurrency and resource management in Scala, as well as the intricacies of Spark’s session lifecycle. The changes reduced garbage collection pressure and enhanced overall reliability, reflecting careful attention to detail and a strong grasp of memory management best practices.
