Worked on the xupefei/delta repository to address memory management and stability concerns in Spark-based workloads. Focused on resolving a potential SparkSession memory leak by ensuring that the SparkSession reference is properly released upon successful completion of NonFateSharingFuture, thereby reducing the risk of lingering resources. This involved refactoring the NonFateSharingFuture component to improve resource cleanup and enhance the reliability of long-running Spark applications. Utilized Scala and applied expertise in concurrency and memory management to implement these changes. The work contributed to lower garbage collection pressure and improved overall system stability, with a primary emphasis on bug fixing rather than feature development.
