During December 2025, Smilkuri focused on maintaining and improving the aws/aws-sdk-js codebase by deprecating and removing the Elastic Transcoder Testing feature. This work involved updating JavaScript and TypeScript test definitions, aligning the test suite with the project’s deprecation roadmap. By eliminating obsolete test paths and associated step definitions, Smilkuri reduced ongoing test maintenance overhead and minimized the risk of false positives in continuous integration workflows. The changes also included updating documentation to support downstream teams. This targeted effort demonstrated a methodical approach to codebase health, emphasizing test management, deprecation strategies, and long-term stability over the course of the month.
