During July 2025, Smit Raj focused on enhancing search usability in the saleor/saleor repository by implementing a case-insensitive email filter for user queries. He approached the problem by updating the backend API logic in Python to ensure that email searches would return accurate results regardless of letter casing, thereby reducing user friction. To maintain reliability, he developed automated tests to validate the new behavior and updated the project’s changelog for traceability. His work demonstrated proficiency in API development, backend development, and testing, delivering a targeted feature that improved the consistency and accuracy of user search functionality within the platform.
