Worked on the konflux-ci/build-definitions repository to enhance CI/CD pipeline reliability and resource efficiency by implementing dynamic, metrics-driven resource governance for Kubernetes-based build and provisioning tasks. Leveraged YAML and Helm to define explicit memory and CPU limits, aligning resource requests with production and fleet-wide P95 usage data to prevent OOM errors and CPU starvation. Applied configuration management best practices to eliminate resource-definition drift, modernize Helm charts, and enforce policy compliance across multiple clusters. Focused on maintainable YAML configuration, code quality improvements, and CI hygiene, resulting in more predictable scheduling, stable builds, and optimized resource utilization for both large and small repositories.
May 2026 (2026-05) focused on hardening CI/build pipelines with fleet-backed resource policy enforcement and per-step sizing across konflux-ci/build-definitions. Delivered a unified approach to compute resources per step (memory and CPU), aligned with Konflux sizing policies and fleet data, to prevent OOM, improve reliability, and stabilize multi-cluster scheduling. Updated YAML patch generation and OCI-TA variant propagation to ensure resource specs are consistently applied across full and -min variants. Performed fleet-wide analyses to base decisions on real usage (P95 metrics across clusters) and maintained policy compliance as new steps were introduced. Also cleaned up CI hygiene (trailing whitespace in YAML) and resolved several policy violations that affected build stability and CI checks. Collaborated across the team to ensure traceability of changes against KONFLUX work items and to document rationale in the issue tracker. Key business value achieved this month includes: more stable builds for large monorepos, reduced risk of OOM-related failures, faster and more predictable CI pipelines, and improved resource utilization across multiple clusters.
