Worked on the apache/datafusion-comet repository to enhance reliability and data integrity within the data processing pipeline. Delivered two features by modernizing file input operations, replacing deprecated methods with Java’s Files.readString to improve performance and maintainability. Introduced a CRC32C checksum algorithm for shuffle data, strengthening error detection and ensuring robust data verification during distributed processing. Focused on practical improvements that addressed both technical debt and operational resilience, leveraging skills in Java, Rust, and Scala. The work demonstrated a methodical approach to software testing and data processing, emphasizing maintainable code and clear business value without introducing new bugs during the development cycle.
