Worked on stabilizing Chronos-Bolt within the sktime/sktime repository by addressing compatibility issues with transformers version 5.x. Focused on a critical bug fix that involved updating internal data structures and correcting decoder initialization, ensuring Chronos-Bolt remained functional across both 4.x and 5.x transformer branches. Used Python and applied data science and machine learning expertise to restore and re-enable test coverage, validating end-to-end forecasting workflows with the latest transformer releases. Maintained the existing dependency footprint while verifying local workflows on sample data, reducing deployment risk and reinforcing reliability for production environments without introducing regressions or new dependencies.
