Sophie Palmade developed core backend systems for the nathan-claeys/UE-CONT-FINAL-PROJECT repository, focusing on microservices for creature collection and item management. Over two months, she designed and implemented RESTful APIs using Node.js, Fastify, and TypeScript, establishing foundational database structures and endpoints to support user collections and inventory workflows. She expanded the system to include player item inventory and creature equipment features, updating data models and interfaces for robust item management. Sophie also integrated Swagger UI for interactive API documentation, improving developer onboarding and maintainability. Her work provided a scalable, well-documented backend architecture without reported bugs during the period.

December 2024: Delivered the core Player Item Inventory and Creature Equipment System along with API documentation tooling for the UE-CONT-FINAL-PROJECT. Implemented new API endpoints to manage a player's item collection and to equip/unequip items on creatures, with supporting data structure/interface updates for inventory management. Swagger UI integration provides interactive API docs at /api-docs and includes a configuration plugin to improve API discoverability and developer onboarding. Major bugs fixed: None reported in scope. Overall impact includes richer gameplay capabilities, faster onboarding for internal/external developers, and a clearer, maintainable API surface. Technologies demonstrated include REST APIs, data modeling, plugin architecture, and Swagger-based documentation.
