During November 2025, Mons focused on enhancing the reliability of OAuth discovery within the modelcontextprotocol/rust-sdk repository. Addressing a critical pain point, Mons implemented robust error handling in Rust to ensure that malformed JSON responses during OAuth discovery no longer caused the entire authorization flow to fail. Instead, the process now automatically skips to the next well-known URL candidate, improving uptime and user experience across multiple providers. This work leveraged Mons’s skills in backend development, API integration, and error handling, demonstrating a thoughtful approach to resilience in distributed authentication systems and contributing depth to the project’s overall stability and maintainability.
