Worked on the acceldata-io/impala repository to improve build stability and maintainability by reverting the Kudu tarball repository integration and restoring the native Kudu toolchain. Addressed a key bug by removing the OdpKudu class and associated environment variable configurations, disabling the ODP mirror for Kudu downloads, and pinning Kudu to a specific commit to ensure deterministic builds. Documented the entire revert process to support future maintenance and traceability. Utilized backend development skills along with expertise in build systems and configuration management, working primarily with Java and Python to enhance reproducibility and compatibility within the project’s build infrastructure.
