Worked on the zed-industries/zed repository to improve Python language server protocol (LSP) workspace root detection in complex multi-project environments using uv, Poetry, and PDM. Addressed a bug where LSP servers incorrectly registered subproject directories as workspace roots by implementing a lockfile-aware heuristic that reliably selects the outermost workspace root while preserving correct fallbacks. Developed comprehensive unit tests for the PyprojectTomlManifestProvider to ensure robust handling of various project structures, and validated the solution with integration tests and cargo checks. Leveraged Rust and backend development skills to enhance reliability and developer productivity in real-world Python multi-workspace scenarios.
