In February 2025, Spang focused on foundational front end development for the wics-uic/WiCS-Website repository, building a skeleton for the site-wide footer component using Astro. The work established a maintainable structure for future content and functionality, aligning with repository standards to streamline subsequent UI iterations. By delivering the initial footer file, Spang addressed the need for consistent user experience across the site and reduced integration risks for future enhancements. Although no bugs were fixed during this period, the contribution laid essential groundwork for ongoing UX improvements and maintainability, demonstrating a methodical approach to component-based web development in Astro.
