Simon Parsons developed two core features for DEFRA’s epr-prn-common-backend and epr-prn-rep-exp-facade repositories, focusing on scalable exporter data management and permit handling. He designed and implemented new database tables, CRUD APIs, and comprehensive unit tests using C# and Entity Framework Core, ensuring robust data integrity and maintainability. Simon integrated dependency injection and HTTP client interfaces to streamline cross-service data exports, while applying DTO design and FluentValidation for reliable data transfer. His work enabled faster, more compliant permit processing and improved exporter data workflows, demonstrating depth in backend development and a strong focus on integration readiness and business value.
