During February 2025, Spolu focused on enhancing the reliability of parent reference updates in the dust-tt/dust repository. They addressed a critical backend issue by reintroducing a three-retry policy for operations that update parent references in connectors and data sources, using TypeScript to implement a standardized withRetries wrapper. This approach stabilized the updateParentsFieldForConnector and updateDataSourceDocumentParents functions, reducing the risk of transient failures and improving data consistency across the system. Spolu’s work leveraged skills in API development, backend development, and database migration, resulting in more resilient parent linkage and minimizing the need for manual intervention in data integrity issues.
