Worked on the ibis-project/ibis repository to expand feature support in the BigQuery backend, focusing on enabling date and timestamp difference calculations within the compiler. Developed and integrated logic for DATEDIFF and timestamp diff operations, allowing users to perform temporal analytics directly through generated SQL queries without manual intervention. Utilized Python and SQL to implement these enhancements, ensuring accurate and portable query generation across backends. The work centered on backend development and data engineering, improving the efficiency of time-based analytics workflows. No major bugs were addressed during this period, as the primary effort was dedicated to feature delivery and backend capability expansion.
