During February 2025, contributed to the vectordotdev/vector repository by developing a feature that enhanced the gcp_stackdriver_logs sink with support for both static and dynamic labels. This addition allowed users to configure static labels directly and extract dynamic labels from the jsonPayload, improving log organization and filtering within Google Cloud Logging. The work focused on backend development and cloud integration, utilizing Rust and CUE to ensure robust implementation. By aligning with repository standards and minimizing rollout risk, the feature improved observability and traceability for customers, enabling more efficient querying and better cost visibility in cloud-based logging environments.
