Worked on the atomiks/base-ui repository to deliver a Popup Focus Management Enhancement aimed at improving accessibility and user experience in dialog interactions. The solution ensured that when a popup or dialog is opened, focus is not forcibly moved if it is already within the floating element, thereby maintaining the user’s navigation context and reducing unexpected focus shifts. This enhancement was implemented using React with both JavaScript and TypeScript, focusing on robust front end development practices. The work aligned with accessibility best practices, strengthened keyboard navigation, and contributed to a more reliable and user-friendly interface for popup and dialog components.
