Worked on the zed-industries/zed repository to deliver a customizable project panel sorting feature, enabling users to control how files and directories are organized through a new sort_order setting. Developed in Rust with a focus on back end development, the solution introduced options for case-sensitive sorting and multiple sorting modes, updating both the settings interface and underlying sorting logic. Emphasized release readiness by aligning with UI/UX and security checklists, expanding test coverage, and ensuring documentation accuracy. This work improved usability for large repositories, allowing users to quickly locate resources and enhancing productivity by supporting tailored project organization workflows.
