During November 2024, Stokes developed the Snapgene Chocolatey Package for the ITS-Unibas/chocolatey-internal-packages repository, focusing on automation and internal package management. He implemented PowerShell scripts and XML-based nuspec metadata to automate installation and ensure accurate dependency handling. Stokes also created an update script that retrieves the latest Snapgene version and checksum directly from the vendor’s website, enabling seamless and secure automatic updates. By aligning the package with internal distribution standards, his work improved software deployment speed, consistency, and security for the team. The project demonstrated depth in DevOps practices and effective use of automation to streamline internal software distribution.
