May 2025: Delivered dynamic BGP range management capabilities and expanded test validation across sonic-buildimage and sonic-mgmt, driving reliability and deployment confidence for dynamic routing configurations. Implemented end-to-end support for modifying IP ranges for dynamic BGP peers, including add/remove operations, overlap handling, persistence, and template-based management for dynamic listen ranges, complemented by robustness checks and unit tests. Developed and documented a comprehensive test plan for dynamic BGP peer IP range modifications in sonic-mgmt, including Per-Vnet BGP scenarios and dynamic peer modification, with templates, configurations, and tests to validate peer states, route learning, and IP range changes. Delivered cross-VNET BGP peering by routing configurations through bgpcfgd, enabling persistent BGP configurations within VNETs and aligning with cloud-scale networking goals. The work included automated tests for IPv4 and IPv6 VNET environments and a gating change to remove a blocking check for BGP peers in VNETs.
