Worked on the opentofu/terraform-provider-tfe repository to deliver a new feature enabling Terraform stack creation without requiring a VCS repository block. This update addressed the needs of users managing stacks outside the typical VCS-repository workflow, streamlining onboarding and configuration. The implementation involved backend development in Go and Terraform, with added validation logic and comprehensive tests to ensure correct behavior when omitting the VCS block. Enhanced logging and safeguards were introduced to catch and prevent configuration errors during stack updates, supporting safer operations. All changes maintained code quality and traceability, laying groundwork for faster future improvements in the provider’s codebase.
