Worked on the DataDog/integrations-core repository to enhance the Redis integration by introducing a client_name configuration option, enabling agent connections to be uniquely identified in environments with restricted ACLs. The implementation involved updating the configuration schema and internal connection logic using Python and YAML, ensuring seamless integration with existing workflows. Documentation and unit tests were thoroughly revised to reflect the new option and provide clear usage guidance. This feature allows for improved observability by making agent identification possible in the Redis CLIENT LIST output, streamlining troubleshooting and supporting configuration management best practices within backend development contexts. No bugs were reported or fixed.
