Worked on the GoogleCloudPlatform/DataflowTemplates repository to deliver a new Dataflow Job Row Limit Configuration, enabling users to cap the number of rows processed per job for improved performance tuning and cost control. Developed the maxNumRows parameter in Java, integrating it into the job execution flow using Apache Beam. The implementation included thorough unit testing to ensure reliability and addressed review feedback with updates to both code and tests. This feature allows data engineering teams to better manage resource allocation and budgeting within their pipelines, providing greater flexibility and control over Dataflow job execution without introducing any bug fixes during the period.
