During November 2024, Swimablefish enhanced deployment flexibility for the Azure/kwok repository by adding hostNetwork support to the kwok Helm chart, specifically targeting kind clusters. This feature, implemented using YAML and Helm, allowed deployments to utilize host networking, addressing common networking issues encountered in CI/CD testing environments. Swimablefish updated documentation and default values to ensure the new option was easily discoverable and correctly used by teams. The work was focused and low-risk, introducing a practical improvement without causing regressions. While the contribution was limited in scope, it laid a solid foundation for future networking enhancements within Kubernetes-based workflows.
