
Developed a new AWS Data Firehose HTTP Input Plugin for the influxdata/telegraf repository, enabling seamless ingestion of metrics via HTTP from AWS Data Firehose. The plugin was engineered in Go and Shell, supporting multiple data formats and incorporating authentication mechanisms to ensure secure data transfer. Attribute-based tagging was implemented to enhance data organization, while robust error handling and comprehensive automated tests were added to ensure production reliability. This work focused on backend development, network programming, and data serialization/deserialization, ultimately improving the reliability and flexibility of Firehose pipeline integrations and accelerating the time-to-insight for users leveraging Telegraf.
