Developed a reliability enhancement for the gitlabhq/gitlab-runner repository by implementing a Secrets Retrieval Retry Mechanism using Go for backend and API development. This feature introduced exponential backoff logic and allowed configuration of retry attempts, integrating seamlessly with existing feature flags to address transient secrets retrieval failures. The approach reduced the need for manual intervention during temporary outages, improving overall system resilience. The work focused on robust backend engineering practices, including peer review and careful integration with the existing codebase.
