Worked on enhancing the health check functionality for the weaviate/weaviate-python-client repository by implementing a gRPC ping check within the is_live method. This update ensured that both HTTP and gRPC endpoints are now verified for liveliness, improving the reliability of service monitoring and reducing the risk of undetected degradation across transport layers. The approach involved backend development and API integration, with a focus on Python and gRPC technologies. Emphasis was placed on robust testing to validate the new health verification logic, resulting in a more comprehensive readiness check for the client library without introducing any bug fixes during the period.
