Worked on stabilizing environment variable management in the NousResearch/hermes-agent repository, focusing on the Kanban board’s state during scoped slash command overrides. Addressed a bug where the HERMES_KANBAN_BOARD variable was not properly restored after overrides, which could cause unintended side effects in subsequent operations. Implemented a mechanism in Python to save and restore the original environment variable value, ensuring reliable state management. Added regression tests to verify the restoration behavior and prevent future regressions. The work emphasized CLI development, environment variable handling, and robust testing practices, contributing to the overall reliability and maintainability of the Hermes Agent codebase.
