Worked on stability and observability enhancements for the Portfolio Tool in the ftsrg/theta repository, focusing on backend development using Kotlin and advanced logging techniques. The main feature involved disabling the XSTS flattening pass by default to reduce runtime errors, while introducing a safety exception to handle incorrect usage scenarios. Logging for portfolio nodes was refactored to utilize a centralized logger instead of standard output, resulting in more consistent and actionable logs. These changes improved monitoring and troubleshooting capabilities, enabling faster incident diagnosis and smoother user workflows. The work demonstrated attention to runtime safety and maintainability within a Kotlin backend context.
