Worked on the microsoft/git repository to enhance release reliability by addressing a regression related to pre-push hook stderr handling. Developed and integrated a targeted regression test using shell scripting, focusing on scenarios where pre-push hooks write to stderr, which previously caused issues in Windows-based release candidates. The solution involved expanding test coverage to validate that such hooks do not emit errors, thereby reducing pipeline failures and improving developer confidence.
