In June 2025, Tatsu consolidated media path handling in the ankitects/anki repository to address path-related failures and enhance add-on compatibility. By implementing basename normalization for SoundOrVideoTag creation, Tatsu ensured that only valid filenames are used, reducing the risk of erroneous paths. The work also restored support for absolute media paths in add-ons while maintaining security constraints, resulting in more robust media playback. This backend development effort, primarily using Python and focused on media handling, improved reliability for both users and add-on developers. The changes reduced support overhead and contributed to a smoother, more predictable user experience within the platform.
