During November 2025, Daniele Tesi developed the Tray Icon Visibility Control feature for the freelensapp/freelens repository. This work introduced a user preference allowing individuals to show or hide the tray icon through a settings toggle, with the preference persisted across sessions. Daniele updated the tray management logic in Electron and React to respect this setting, aligning the application with goals of reducing distractions and enhancing user customization. The implementation, written in TypeScript and JavaScript, addressed issue #1369 and laid the foundation for future UI customization and accessibility improvements. No bugs were fixed during this period, focusing solely on new feature delivery.
