Worked on the meshtastic/Meshtastic-Android repository to deliver support for custom HTTP tile servers, expanding the app’s ability to source map tiles from alternative providers. This involved updating the Android network security configuration and manifest to selectively permit cleartext HTTP traffic for specified domains, balancing flexibility with security requirements. The implementation used XML for configuration and leveraged Android development skills to ensure robust integration. By enabling configurable tile-loading options, the work laid the foundation for more versatile testing and deployment scenarios. No bugs were addressed during this period, with efforts focused on feature delivery and maintaining code quality throughout the process.
