Developed and delivered a new feature for the open-telemetry/opentelemetry-collector-contrib repository, expanding the Alertmanager Exporter to convert logs into Prometheus Alertmanager alerts alongside existing trace exports. The work involved designing and implementing Go-based backend logic to process log records, update configuration structures, and register new exporter functionality. Comprehensive unit and manual testing ensured reliability and backward compatibility, while documentation and configuration examples were updated to support user adoption. This enhancement enables teams to generate actionable alerts from log events, improving incident response workflows. The project demonstrated skills in API development, backend engineering, and rigorous testing within a production monitoring context.
