During November 2024, Fliterdashen focused on backend maintenance for the kaiachain/kaia repository, addressing code clarity in the Istanbul backend. The primary engineering work involved refining documentation by renaming a misleading comment from HasBadBlock to HasBadProposal, ensuring the comment accurately reflected the function’s behavior. This targeted code refactoring, performed in Go, improved maintainability and reduced the risk of future misunderstandings without altering any runtime behavior. Fliterdashen demonstrated disciplined code hygiene by isolating the change to a single chore-level commit, following best practices for small, low-risk fixes.
