Tackled a crash that occurred when filtering cats by status by updating the core filtering logic to support the 'lost' status within the _check_cat_status function. Enhanced event_filters.py to ensure lost cats are correctly evaluated, which prevented crashes during search operations and improved the reliability of the cat search and filter flow. Demonstrated a strong understanding of Python and backend systems by ensuring data state consistency and reducing user-facing errors, contributing to a more stable and maintainable codebase overall.
