Jordi Cid Sierra enhanced the flatcar/scripts repository by enabling function tracing and dynamic ftrace for ARM64 builds, focusing on improving kernel observability and laying the foundation for advanced debugging and security tooling. Working primarily in C and leveraging system programming and kernel development expertise, Jordi consolidated ARM64 tracing configurations to streamline future enhancements and reduce investigation time. The technical approach involved updating kernel build scripts to support CONFIG_FUNCTION_TRACER and CONFIG_DYNAMIC_FTRACE, which facilitates faster incident response and root-cause analysis. This work demonstrated depth in kernel-level tooling and contributed to more configurable, reliable ARM64 environments without addressing major bug fixes.
